About

Dial up skin’s defense and boost brightness in one shot with this featherweight serum bursting with 30% Vitamin C. Our Restorative Vitamin C Serum is formulated with ethyl ascorbic acid, a form of Vitamin C specially selected because it is highly stable. This means it may help protect skin against damage-causing environmental aggressors for longer. Over time, Vitamin C’s helps hydrate and smooth skin while calming inflammation and improving resiliecy to give skin a brighter, refreshed look.

Vitamin C is a co-enzyme that supports healthy functions in the body and the skin such as collagen synthesis and assisting in antioxidant protection against-UV induced photo damage. [1,2]

While normal skin contains high concentrations of vitamin C, reports indicate that vitamin C levels are lower in aged or photodamaged skin. [2,3,4,5] Furthermore, since the outermost layer of the skin, the epidermis, lacks the blood vessels that normally deliver nutrients to cells and has limited movement of fluids between cells, it is likely that Vitamin C obtained through diet alone is not easily able to reach the skin.[2] This reinforces the importance of topical Vitamin C as a way for skin to reap its full benefits.

Key Ingredients

Vitamin C can benefit a variety of skin types. Due to its potential anti-inflammatory effect, Vitamin C may also help in treating inflammatory skin conditions like acne and and rosacea. It can promote the skin’s healing process and prevent post-inflammatory discoloration. [6,7] Vitamin C may also help lock-in hydration by supporting the skin’s ability to protect itself from water loss. [8,9]

When used as part of a daily skin care regimen, vitamin C may encourage collagen synthesis, increasing skin’s resiliency and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Vitamin C may help reduce inflammation and related redness and works to reinforce the skin’s natural barrier, locking in moisture for softer and more supple skin.

The Vitamin C form used in Skin Chemistry solutions, known as ethyl ascorbic acid, is optimized for skin care products due to its ability to provide consistent and stable benefits for a longer duration. When choosing a topical Vitamin C product, it’s very important to choose one that comes in an airless pack. Exposure to air, causes oxidation in vitamin C, reducing its potency over time and causing discoloration to the formula.

    Really helping with my hyperpigmentation

    Sara67

I use this serum as a part of my nighttime routine and it has really been a great treatment for my hyperpigmentation and I am starting to see it fade. I also like that this serum is more gel-like, it goes on easily and absorbs quickly into my skin leaving it feeling nice and soft.

    My skin looks noticeably brighter..

    Belinda

I purchased this serum with the hopes it would even out my skin tone as I have brown spots, mainly on my forehead. I have to say that in just a few short weeks I am starting to notice a difference and my skin is looking brighter and the spots are starting to fade. The reason I gave this serum 4 stars not 5 stars is b/c it is a little thick, but other than that it really is a wonderful serum and I will keep using it.

My good friend told me about Skin Chemistry and this serum and she couldn’t stop raving about it so I decided to give it a try. Love it!! My skin has never felt or looked better and skin tone is so much more even now, I used to have so many brown spots and they are all starting to fade. This serum is truly the best!. I also love how this brand is cruelty-free, for me that is very important. I will definitely be purchasing other Skin Chemistry products, so happy I found this brand.

Serum really helped my dark sport, but feels a little sticky

    Kayla

This serum really did wonders for my dark spots, I can honestly say that they are so much lighter, almost not noticeable, so I am very pleased. The only reason I gave it 3 stars is b/c it feels a little sticky, other than that it I am pleased with this serum and I will continue to use it.

This is a lovely serum and I really like how it has 30% vitamin c. My skin has been looking so dull and tired for a while now and since I started using this product I am noticing a difference. I mainly use it at night but I think I am going to start using it in the morning as well.

  13. Maddie

    Such a refreshing serum!!

    Maddie

This serum is amazing, it is actually very refreshing. The vitamin c in this serum helped my skin tremendously. I have tried several different prescription products from my Dermatologist and nothing seemed to help with my melasma and my skin always looked so dull and I felt it looked dirty b/c of the melasma. Since I started using this serum I have noticed a huge improvement in my skin. My skin is brighter and the melasma has diminished significantly, I no longer feel self-conscious. The best serum ever and such and the price point is phenomenal!!! Thank you Skin Chemistry for saving my skin!
